A Lecturer with Kaduna State University (KASU), Ibrahim Shehu (a.K. Abba) was yesterday killed by suspected armed robbers along Birnin Gwari- Kaduna Express way.
The incidence occurred around 5 pm, on his way from Birnin Gwari his home town where he spent the weekend. Sources said the victim’s father is the chief Imam of Birnin Gwari Town.
The lecturer according to a resident of Birnin Gwari town told Peoples Daily on phone that the victim was inside a commercial vehicle when the robbers opened fire on the vehicle and was hit by a bullet.
“He was the only person that died in the car and his father is the chief imam of our town. He has been buried at Birnin Gwari burial ground,” he said.
There was unconfirmed report from the area that said the youths in the town planned to stage a peaceful protest today to show their anger towards the state government over the killings of innocent souls along Birnin Gwari by the bandits.
Contacted, Kaduna State Command Spokesperson, SP Aminu Lawan said the command was yet to receive the information as of the time of filling the report.
