Bishop tasks gov’t on improved access to basic amenities

Bishop Dr. Chinyere Ilochi, a retired staff of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN),  has charged the government to deem it necessary to intensify  provision of basic necessities of lives such as water and electricity for the Nigerian populace.

Ilochi also urged the government at all levels to provide jobs for the graduates roaming about on the streets  She also called on highly placed individuals as well as Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to engage youth in the skills acquisition programme to alleviate their sufferings.

The Bishop, who gave the charge while speaking to newsmen in Gwagwalada during the New Year Programme of I am that I am Bible Ministry Incorporated tagged “We must Prosper” this year.

She however, appealed to Nigerians to try as much as possible to do something in order to provide food for their families, instead of depending on the government for assistance.

She noted that as they prosper among the less privileged ones, they should endeavor to help the people around them.

According to her, business men and women should assist the needy in the society for them to prosper in life.

Furthermore, she asked the government of the day to expedite action to reduce the prices of commodities in Nigeria, so as to enable the people to feed well.
