He made the statement yesterday when he visited soldiers at the headquarters of Sector 11, Operation Lafiya Dole in Damaturu, Yobe State capital to encourage them, describing them as gallant and courageous men who have demonstrated their professionalism with full resilience.
He urged the soldiers to deal ruthlessly with the insurgents and anyone found to be supporting the insurgents in their destructive activities in the North East in particular and the country at large.
“Stand up, destroy Boko Haram now, there is no excuse and I know you can do it. Deal ruthlessly with Boko Haram and their supporters without any form of pity, kindness, get Boko Haram out of Nigeria now,” he commanded the military.
He assured to give every needed support to the soldiers to ensure the destruction and erasing the name and presence of Boko Haram once and for all, adding that it is the military constitutional duty to ensure total eradication of all elements of the insurgency in the country.
