Coordinating minister for the economy and Finance minister, Dr. (Mrs.) Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has denied the accusation in some quarters that the federal government was unable to end the insurgency that is bedevilling the country
According to a British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Hausa report monitored yesterday, the minister said the government is doing its best to ensure that peace is restored to the troubled regions in the country
she said, ‘We showed that we are able to contain the insurgent attacks; the bomb attack suspect who planted bombs in Kano has been arrested. The government is doing its best within its powers.
The minister’s comments is coming a few days after more than twenty people were killed in
Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, when Boko Haram insurgents bombed a popular market, killing 20 people, 69 other residents were injured.
