Boko Haram, ploy to conquer the north politically – Activist

The apparent inaction of the Federal Government and ineffectiveness of the armed forces to address the murderous activities of the Boko Harm in the north has been described as is a ploy to turn the region into a killing field and wasteland in other for the Jonathan’ led government to conquer it politically.

A human right activist and cordinator of El- Rufa’i Support Group (ESG) Dr. Sani Uba made the assertion while speaking to the media in Kaduna, yesterday.

According to him, the Federal Government has no coherent strategy to end Boko Haram menace, which may be a result of deliberate ploy to undermine the North and conquer it politically, saying this is the time for northern elders and youth to come together in order to fashion a strategy to checkmate the forces of darkness and retrogression working earnestly to destroy the region.

Speaking on the situation in Kaduna state, Uba said the people of Kaduna state are tired of the system that makes nothing to work and the state as one of the states in the country where nothing works.

According Uba Sani the state of affairs in the Kaduna state is unacceptable as, according to him, the people cannot fold their hands and watch the state continue to drift, adding that it is time for all men and women of goodwill to come to gather and join hand to rescue the state from the grip of political jobbers.

“Kaduna state is now listed among state where nothing works due the activities of visionless leaders. Inept and corrupt leadership has arrested Kaduna state ‘rise to prominence in the nation and this has brought about dilapidated infrastructures liter length and breadth of once pride of the North”, he stated.

“We must work assiduously to enthrone a fearless, credible and development oriented leadership and it is a task that all well-meaning people of Kaduna state must carry out or history would be unkind to us”, he added.

Comrade Uba further disclosed that after an extensive consultation, Malam Nasir El- Rufa’i came out as the best material available to the state, considering his past track record and a man that can rescue the state from depths of despair and hopelessness, “given his past antecedents as a fearless , urbane, intelligent, articulate man, imbued with a never- say-die spirit.

“He came to the governorship race with his experience as a technocrat, development specialist, astute politician and accomplished administration, who have distinguished as a manager of persons and resources.

“We have carefully followed Nasir El- Rufa’i’s past record and came to the conclusion that he is a person of steely posture, but a humble and approachable person, who is merely impatient with persons who fail to follow due process and are eager to benefit from the system instead of rendering self-less services “, Uba concluded.
