Boko Haram terrorists kill 23 Chadian soldiers, injure 26

Boko Haram terrorists have attacked a military base in Chad, killing at least 23 security personnel and injuring 26 others, the country’s army said in a statement on Tuesday.

The army, however, said it repelled the attack after engaging the militants and is currently engaged in clearance operations across the area.

Boko Haram militants have since 2009 extended their reach from northeast Nigeria to western Chad, with the Lake Chad region experiencing attacks on military installations in recent years.
Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Deby condemned the attack in a statement posted on Facebook.

“Once again, the terrorist nebula Boko Haram carried out, last night, a cowardly attack on our military base in Barka Tolorom, in Lake Chad province,” he said.
