There was panic yesterday in Bauchi state capital following bomb scared in Wunti market. just as the police warns politicians against posters.
Wunti market is one of the biggest and busiest market in Bauchi state people troop into the market to buy and sell goods and is the center of the city, if the bomb had exploded hundreds of people would have killed as a result of the blast.
The Police Public Relations Officer DSP Haruna Mohammed said it was a false alarm and immediately the police Explosive Ordinal Disposal team moved to the scene and cordoned the place and discovered that it was a kerosene stove and not explosive devices as alleged.
According to the statement, “It was a false alarm. we rushed to the scene with Explosive Ordinal Disposal team, cordoned the place and discovered that it was a kerosene stove and not explosive devices as alleged. Traders were also educated to be vigilant and report presence of Suspicious Items and stay away from same pending arrival of Police EOD Team”.
