The Borno state government, said it concluded all arrangements to apply the strategies used by Jigawa state on implementation of social protection programs.
This was announced by the Senior Special assistant to governor Babagana Umara Zulum on social investment programs Habu Kale Tijjani during an interactive and sharing experience meeting with Borno/Jigawa SP stakeholders, held at Dutse Royal hotel Jigawa state.
He explained that, the stakeholders from Borno decided to choose Jigawa state for learning and sharing tour because Jigawa is best in terms of full implementations of social protection policy in the country.
“Borno state is highly in need of Social protection programs more than Jigawa state due Boko Haram insurgents activities, and I assured you that the present administration in Borno will adopt the Jigawa strategies and do better than any state in the country “ he said.
Also representing Borno state House of Assembly at the meeting, a lawmaker representing Maidiguri metrpolitant and chairman comnittee on poverty alleviation Alhaji Ali Kotoko said, the house will do all it best and ensure the full implementation of social protection programs in the state.
The lawmaker who promised the commencement of the SPP in Borno within this year said, Governor Zulum is ready to sign into law any bill that would reduce poverty among Borno people.
He then appreciated the Jigawa SP stakeholders and promised to apply all the strategies used in Jigawa SPP and make Borno better.
