Governor Uba Sani has secured the governorship ticket of the Kaduna State APC for 2027 general election after polling a massive 459,393 affirmation votes on Thursday in Kaduna.
Governor Sani, who contested as the sole aspirant, received overwhelming endorsement from delegates, party leaders and relevant stakeholders across the 23 local government areas of the state in what turned into a carnival-like display of loyalty, unity and confidence in his administration.
The primary election, monitored by officials of the , attracted top APC chieftains, elected officials, political appointees and thousands of party supporters, with chants and celebrations erupting across the venue as delegates unanimously adopted the affirmation process.
Announcing the result, Chairman of the Kaduna APC Governorship and House of Assembly Primary Election Committee, Hon. Hafiz Ibrahim Kawu, described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and reflective of the growing unity and internal cohesion within the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general election.
The motion for the adoption of the affirmation votes was moved by the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Liman, and was unanimously endorsed by delegates amid loud cheers from supporters.
Speaking shortly after his emergence, Governor Uba Sani thanked APC members, stakeholders and the people of Kaduna State for what he described as an overwhelming demonstration of trust and solidarity.
According to the governor, the endorsement represents a renewed mandate to deepen inclusive governance, strengthen security and accelerate development across the state.
“We have made significant progress into restoring peace, strengthening unity and expanding development across Kaduna State through dialogue, inclusion and people-oriented policies,” the governor stated.
“From infrastructure and education to rural transformation and urban renewal, our administration remains committed to improving the lives of our citizens.”
Governor Sani assured residents that his administration would consolidate on the gains already recorded and intensify efforts towards building a more peaceful, prosperous and economically vibrant Kaduna State.
The emphatic affirmation is already being interpreted in political circles as a major consolidation of Governor Uba Sani’s hold on the Kaduna APC structure and a strong signal of party cohesion ahead of the next electoral cycle.
