Breaking: Bago swears in commissioners, chairmen, others

Niger State Governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has sworn in 30 commissioners, 25 elected council chairmen, and their vice, as well as board members, with a charge to contribute greatly in delivering the New Niger agenda of his administration.

The swearing-in ceremony was performed at the Hauwa Wali Multi-purpose Hall, Government House Minna, where the Chief Judge of Niger State, Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik, represented by Justice Maimuna Abubakar of High Court 6, administered the oath of office and allegiance to them.

The farmer governor explained that they were deliberately chosen, based on their track records, expressing optimism that they will give their best for a better Niger State.

He stressed the need for them to reflect on the past with a view to building a sustainable, prosperous, and egalitarian Niger State.

In his address, the Secretary to the State Government, Alh. Abubakar Usman, called on the newly sworn-in public office holders to be committed in the discharge of their duties, pointing out that their commitment will go a long way in making the New Niger agenda a success.

He said a retreat had strategically been organised for them to align them to a collective vision and define clear expectations.

The board members sworn in were from the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board, the Secondary Education Board, and the Law Reform Commission.

Some of the newly sworn-in public office holders expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and promised to work assiduously for the realisation of the New Niger agenda.
