A fire outbreak has destroyed a section of the Rivers State Government Secretariat in Port Harcourt, causing panic among workers and visitors.
Reports indicate that the affected area includes offices belonging to the Rivers State Pension Board, where several important documents and office equipment were reportedly damaged.
As of press time, the cause of the fire had not yet been determined. However, emergency responders and firefighters were said to have arrived promptly to prevent the blaze from spreading to other parts of the complex.
Authorities have since launched an investigation to ascertain the source of the fire and assess the extent of the damage.
