In a grand ceremony marked by applause and excitement, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State officially commissioned 12 landmark road projects hours ago.
The commissioned roads include Ja Abdulkadir Road, Bissau Road, Unguwan Muazu Township Roads, Water Intake Road, Off Yakubu Gowon Residential Layout Roads, and Kawo Layout Roads, Off ‘Yan Awaki Road.
Others are the State House Roads Network, Stadium to Station Roundabouts, Residential Layout Off Gobarau Road, Residential Layout Off Kinshasa Road, Sultan-Surame Road, and Ohinoyi Road.
Speaking at the event, Governor Uba Sani described the projects as a pivotal part of his administration’s agenda to transform Kaduna State into a hub of economic activities and sustainable urban development.
Also answering questions from newsmen after the commissioning, A Counsellor to the governor, Hon Yusuf Hamisu Mairago said : “These roads are not just infrastructure; they are lifelines for commerce, education, healthcare, and better living standards. The governor is building roads, but more importantly, this is building the future of Kaduna State”.
The 12 projects are expected to ease traffic congestion, enhance connectivity among communities, and boost socio-economic activities in the state.
Residents of the affected areas expressed profound gratitude, noting that the new roads have already started improving their quality of life.
Mrs. Maryam Yusuf, a resident of Unguwan Muazu, said, “We’ve waited decades for this kind of progress. Governor Uba Sani has given us hope, and we can now proudly say Kaduna is on the right track.”
The event also drew dignitaries from the State, including traditional rulers, community leaders, and representatives of development partners.
“The Governor’s bold and people-oriented leadership earned praise from many quarters, solidifying his reputation as a leader dedicated to actionable progress”, Hon Mairago further stated.
Governor Uba Sani’s long term associate, Abubakar Garba Baba-Abu also said, ” the administration has made infrastructure development a cornerstone of its policy. With these 12 roads, the governor has delivered on yet another promise to bridge gaps and lay a solid foundation for a more prosperous Kaduna State.
Stakeholders said it is evident that the state is positioning itself as a symbol of growth and development in Nigeria.
