Breaking: New AGN president, Abubakar Yakubu in police custody after fatal Lagos crash

Newly elected Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) President, Abubakar Yakubu, is at the centre of a tragic incident after being involved in an auto crash in Surulere, Lagos, barely days after winning the hotly contested election against Rita Daniels.
Yakubu, who clinched the presidency with 116 votes against Daniels’ 113, was said to have been driving when the accident occurred. Early reports indicate that one person died during the crash.

According to Sahara Reporters, the new AGN president was taken into custody at the Barracks Police Station in Surulere as investigations began to piece together what led to the fatal incident.

Police authorities are yet to release an official statement and details remain sketchy at the moment, especially regarding the cause of the crash and whether charges will follow.
