Paris Saint-Germain defended their European crown by defeating Arsenal 4-3 in a dramatic penalty shootout after a grueling 1-1 draw at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest.
The victory secures back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles for Luis Enrique’s side. They become only the second club in the modern Champions League era to successfully retain the trophy, joining Real Madrid’s historic three-peat dynasty.
Early Drama and Arsenal’s Dream Start
Fresh off winning their first domestic league title in 22 years, Arsenal entered the match chasing their maiden Champions League trophy.
Mikel Arteta’s men started with ruthless intent and stunned the holders in the 6th minute. Kai Havertz found the back of the net early, capitalizing on a sharp attacking sequence to give the Gunners a 1-1 dream opening.
