Breaking: Tinubu slashes 2026 Hajj fare for Nigerian pilgrims

Date:

National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced a substantial cut in the cost of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.

This development comes in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive to review and reduce Hajj fares to ease the financial burden on Nigerian Muslims preparing for the holy journey.

According to figures released by the commission, pilgrims will now enjoy a reduction of up to ₦792,943.83 compared to the 2025 rates, with the final discount varying depending on each pilgrim’s departure zone.

The adjustment is part of the federal government’s efforts to make the annual pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia more affordable and accessible to Muslims across the country.
