Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have successfully foiled an attempted mass abduction by suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Monguno, Borno State.
The attempted attack occurred in the early hours of Sunday when the terrorists reportedly targeted the school in a bid to abduct students.
According to security sources, troops of Operation HADIN KAI swiftly responded to the incident, engaging the attackers and successfully preventing the abduction.
A total of 46 female students were rescued unharmed during the operation, while the terrorists were forced to retreat following the troops’ decisive response.
