Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has presided over the unveiling of “PocketMoni,” an innovative financial technology solution by eTranzact Plc, aimed at addressing financial exclusion in Nigeria, particularly in the northern region.

The event, which he chaired, at eTranzact’s Abuja office, resonates with the governor’s ongoing efforts to bridge the gap for underserved and vulnerable communities.

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Sani reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving access to financial services for the poor and marginalized.

“Upon assuming office as Governor, the first Executive Order I signed focused on Financial Inclusion to ensure the benefits of social intervention programmes reach every corner of Kaduna State,” he remarked.

Governor Sani also highlighted his legislative contribution to financial sector reforms, pointing to the Banking and Other Financial Institutions Act (BOFIA) 2020, which he sponsored during his tenure as a Senator in the 9th Senate.

The Act laid the groundwork for the emergence of Financial Technology Companies (FINTECHs) like eTranzact, enabling innovative solutions to thrive.

The new “PocketMoni” product offers mobile wallets and banking services to financially excluded populations, providing access to credit facilities and social intervention programmes from donor agencies, SMEDAN, and other micro-lending platforms.

He commended eTranzact for delivering a transformative solution that aligns with the broader goal of financial inclusion in Nigeria.
