An aspirant for the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mallam Usman Adamu has vowed to turn Bauchi state into the Dubai of Nigeria.
Usman who spoke after submitting his nomination forms for the primary election, to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party said, his administration will achieve the feat using a blueprint which he said he developed over the past 20 years.
According to him, the successive administrations in the state have not been able to take full advantage of the abundance of energetic youth population to develop the state.
“We have development rights that we will adopt, I have a blueprint gentlemen that I have developed over the past 20 years and the blueprint has been existing for 20 years in Bauchi only that it has not been fully utilized and I assure you with the little experience I have with the cooperation of the youths and the elders I assure you the sky is our limit. I hope Bauchi will be like Dubai. I assure you we have a vision and by God’s grace it shall be actualized.
When asked about his chances considering the fact that the incumbent governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed had decamped to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), the PDP aspirant said; “Let me also use the medium to say one or two things. You know, politics is like a battlefield and in the battlefield, the battlefield looks like a football match. Where you want to win. You have a coach, and referee. And in all fields of war, you must have a warrior.
“Well, I think that is what I said earlier. Bauchi people are very wise. Even the former governor defeated an incumbent governor. So talkless of defeating a person that was imposed by the governor. I don’t think that will be a problem in Bauchi.
“Why I am happy is, in PDP we have a warrior. You know why? A warrior, or a scorer, who was able to start this journey and score at least 14 goals.
“Because before, about 14 governors, ganged up against one person, and gradually, one after the other you were scoring one, two. I have never seen such a scorer. In the end, the match ended 14-0. I am thanking Wike for what he has done.
“Before they were filling the media space with accusations that he was working for APC and the gentleman as of today 85% of those accusing him have already officially decamped to the APC.
“If you are playing politics there are three fundamental things you need; one is stability, two strategy, three stamina, because it is not something for the lazy because if you are not prepared you will start and you will find yourself nowhere. You will disappear in the middle of the road you will find yourself selling cassava”.
The aspirant said the returning of his form is the beginning of the journey to liberate the state.
“I will provide a bridge that can consolidate Bauchi in three folds.
One, I am not too old and nether too young to be a leader in this country and I am not too young don’t mind my small stature. I will be the edge I will bridge that edge.
“Secondly, we have a dichotomy in the states that is called Bauchi- Kataokum, I don’t belong to Bauchi I don’t belong to Kataokum I will be in the middle of this place. Bauchi is our target.
“Thirdly, everything that is that we need consolidation so I will be the bridge between the women youths and elders, that is guaranteed”.
He also dubunked the insinuations that there is still crisis in the PDP, advising anyone who is in doubt to visit the website of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
