Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense has confirmed that several United States military aircraft crashed on Monday, adding that all crew members survived the incidents.
In a statement released by the ministry, spokesperson Col. Said Al-Atwan said relevant authorities swiftly launched search-and-rescue operations after the crashes were reported.
“The crews were evacuated from the crash sites and transferred to hospital to assess their condition and provided necessary medical care,” Al-Atwan stated.
He added that the crew members are currently in stable condition.
The development follows the circulation of videos, geolocated by CNN, which appeared to show a fighter jet going down in Kuwait and a pilot parachuting safely to the ground.
CNN reported that it has contacted the United States Central Command for further comment on the incidents.
According to the Kuwaiti defense ministry, the country is in direct coordination with US authorities as investigations and follow-up procedures continue.
