The Chairman, Estimate Committee/ Commissioner, PBC, Mukhtar Ahmed has enjoined Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to raise their performance bar and re-strategize to meet up with their revenue targets contained in the approved 2023 budget of the state.
Muhktar made this known during the commencement of a three-day quarterly Revenue Review Meeting with internal Revenue Generating Ministries, Departments, and Agencies. ( MDAs) held at the Planning and Budget Commission
The Commissioner said the essence of the meeting was to discuss Strategies, Challenges, Optimization, and Opportunities to tackle and manage these challenges expedients to the achievement of the revenue target for the State.
According to him, the state government is determined to meet the revenue targets for the full implementation of the 2023 budget of Kaduna state despite the nation’s challenges bordering on the economy.
He urged the MDAs to set up monitoring mechanisms that would track all revenue generated by them towards the actualization of their targets.
He stressed the state government’s determination towards growing its IGR to create a socio-economic system not so dependent on federal allocation.
The Commissioner maintained that the IGR was needed to meet up with the recurrent expenditures, pointing out that the governor had been passionate and committed to regular payment of workers’ salaries, pensions, and subventions.
