President Muhammad Buhari has commissioned a 4.5 kilometres road constructed at the Federal University Dutse in Jigawa state.
The project which consumed about N1.4 billion before its completion was funded by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation through Ecological Fund Office.
President Buhari who was represented by the Minister of Interior, General Abdurrahman Bello Dambazau reiterated the commitment of the present administration towards its effort of no part of the country would suffer any neglect owing to its geopolitical location or political consideration.
He assured of President Buhari’s commitment to continue with the implementation of all genuine government policies.
He added that, the completion of this project has also underscored the federal government’s concerted effort and sincerity of purpose in tackling environmental problems in the country, making life more meaningful for Nigerians.
The Minister also promised to construct fire service office and modern equipment for the university adding that, he would all his best to convince the federal government for the release of more fund for second phase of the projects in the University.
While making her remarks earlier, the vice chancellor of the University professor Fatima Batoul Mukhtar said,the project include 4.5 km roads and 2.1km drainage.
The VC commended the federal government particularly the office of the Secretary of the federation for the release of the fund.
