Buhari’s attack: Saraki calls for independent investigation

The chairman, Senate committee on Environment and Ecology, Dr Bukola Saraki has called for independent investigation into the recent attack on General Muhammed Buhari by suspected suicidal bombers.

  Saraki who condemned the Kaduna twin-bomb blast targeted at General Buhari and renowned Islamic cleric, Dahiru Bauchi in a statement he personally signed, commiserated with the families of the victims of the bomb attacks and thanked Almighty Allah for his protection over General Muhammadu Buhari and the many other survivors of the disaster.

  The immediate past Governor of Kwara State also appealed to the Nigeria Army and other security agencies to rescue over 240 chibok girls abducted more than 100 days ago.

  On General Buhari, Saraki said, “these bombings must once again be condemned by one and all, as evil doers have again demonstrated that they will leave no sacred stones un turned in their quest to disrupt the livelihoods of a peace-loving and God fearing nation like ours.

“I join the Nigerian public in calling for an independent and thorough investigation into this attack against a respected statesman like General Buhari,and as to whether it is connected to his recent statements that condemned the blatant impunity exhibited by this current administration.

The Senator, representing Kwara Central Senatorial district expressed his concern over inability of security agencies to rescue over 250 missing girls after 100 days in captivity by Boko Haram sect.

He urged servicemen and women to do everything in their power to bring these girls back home. “We must support all efforts, both international and domestic that work to secure the release of these girls.”

  “No options must be taken off the table. No stones should be left unturned. We must #BringBackOurGirls. We must rescue our daughters.” the governor said
