A Bayero University, Kano (BUK) student, identified as Shafiu Auwal Ibrahim, who mysteriously went missing four years ago, has been found alive in Kaduna State.
The news, which surfaced across several social media platforms, has created relief and celebration among his family and friends who had been searching for him since his disappearance in 2021.
Shafiu, a resident of the Janbulo area in Kano, reportedly went missing under unclear circumstances, leaving his loved ones in deep distress. For years, his family and the university community made frantic efforts to trace his whereabouts, but all hopes seemed lost until now.
According to family sources, Shafiu was discovered in a remote village in Kaduna, where he had been living with an Islamic cleric. The cleric was said to have taken him in years ago after finding him in a mentally unstable state.
While details about his current mental health have not been fully disclosed, the family confirmed that Shafiu has since reunited with them. They expressed immense gratitude to God for bringing him back safely after years of uncertainty and fear.
Sources close to the family added that Shafiu is currently in good health and stable condition, marking an emotional end to a four-year-long search.
