Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has described the media as a dependable ally in the development of the State.
The governor made this statement on Thursday at the opening ceremony of the 2024 End-of-Year press briefing organized by the Ministry Home Affairs, Information and Culture in Damaturu.
The governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana, commended the dedication and commitment of members of the press, acknowledging their crucial role in keeping the public informed about the state’s progress.
He assured that his administration would continue to provide an enabling environment for the media to perform their duties effectively.
Governor Buni expressed pride in his administration’s accomplishments across key sectors, including healthcare, agriculture, education, and infrastructure.
He underscored the significance of initiatives such as the N15.3 billion agricultural revitalization program, which provided tools and inputs to 5,340 farmers across the state, and a N1.7 billion investment in grain reserves for food security.
