Bureau DG identifies ICT as panacea for poverty reduction

The Director General of the Nasarawa state Bureau for Information Communication Technology (BICT) Shehu Ibrahim has identified Information Communication Technology ICT as a key major element of poverty reduction through job creation in the society.
He stated this while speaking with Newsmen in his office in Lafia, the state capital, on the role of ICT and the establishment of the Bureau by the Nasarawa state government.
According to him, ICT is an effective tool for reducing poverty and expanding health services as well as create Job opportunities for both graduates and undergraduates in ICT compliant society and generally improving the quality Life of the citizens.
The BICT DG added that with the establishment of the Bureau in the state, has immensely improved the economic, culture, political and Human sectors, calling on the citizens to embrace ICT for the rapid development of the state and the Nation at Large.
Ibrahim, who expressed delight with the state government for according priority to the Bureau, promised to take it to the next step for the benefit of the society.
