Busicon charges government agencies on efficiency

Busicon Nig. Ltd, an ICT Company that provides Electronic Document Management Services (EDMS) has charged government and its agencies to be more efficient in its business.

This call was made in Lagos during the seminar organised by the company, Busicon to sensitize government agencies, corporate organisations, and different establishments to embrace the use of Electronic Documentation Management Solution (EDMS) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) in order to be more effective and efficient in their business.

According to Prof. Cleopas O Angaye, former Director General /CEO NITDA, consultant on Child Online Protection and Cyber security ,in his keynote address, he described EDMS as a collection of technologies that work together to provide a comprehensive solution for managing the creation, capture, indexing, storage, retrieval, and disposition of records and information asset of an organisation.

Prof. Cleopas said the significance of such sensitization programme is to enable organisations and agencies alike to eliminate waste as a result of manual processes, increase efficiency and effectiveness in an organisation and encourages transparency. He condemned the attitude of wasting many hours or even days in looking for files in offices when there are ways of tracking files and important assets through EDMS and RFID.

Mrs Titilola Akanbi, the CEO of Busicon who spoke with news men after the seminar said the programmes become necessary given the security situation in the country and sundry areas of needs like maintenance and operations, border and immigration security, prison tracking, identity and credentialing, facility security, ballot tracking and so on that calls for immediate embrace of this modern technology and this according to her explain why the company( Busicon) has to drewn facilitators from different parts of the world to speak at the seminar.
