The Catholic Bishop of Wukari Diocese, Most Rev Mark Nzukwein on Sunday confirmed the abduction of his Catholic Priest, Reverend Father Thaddeus Tarhembe in the State.
Rev Tarhembe was the parish Priest of St Ann’s parish Sarkin kudu in Ibi local government area of the State.
He was kidnapped in the early hours of Sunday at the parish rectory.
This was contained in a statement by Wukari Diocese Communications Director, Rev Fr. John Laike.
Statement read in parts, “The sad event occurred in the early hours of Sunday 29th October, 2023 in the Rev Fathers rectory of his Parish.
“He is the Parish Priest of St Ann’s Parish, Sarkin Kudu in lbi Local Government Area of Taraba State.
“We solicit for prayers from all people of good will for his safety and quick release by his abductors”.
The spokesperson for the police in Taraba State, SP Abdullahi Usman, had yet to respond to an inquiry concerning the incident.
