Caution Tinubu against interfering in Kano political crisis, Yoruba residents urges Obasanjo, Ooni, others

Yoruba residents, under the auspices of Concerned Yoruba Community in Kano, CYCK, have expressed fear that the alleged interference in the political crisis in Kano state by President Bola Tinubu would be a threat their to their life.
The Court of Appeal had in its Friday judgement read by the chairman of the panel, Justice Moore Adumein, upheld the judgement of the tribunal, declaring APC candidate, Nasiru Gawuna, as winner of the governorship election in the state, sacking governor Abba Yusuf of NNPP.
The development had created tension in the state that sparked protest on Wednesday, which was foiled by the prompt intervention of the Police.
Speaking at a press conference in Kano on Thursday, Taofeek Olalekan Olaosebikon, Secretary General of the Yoruba community association said the alleged interference of Mr Tinubu to influence the Appeal Court ruling would pose danger to them in the state.
According to him, Yoruba community would not find it easy in the event violence break out in Kano as the people in the state, especially supporters of NNPP “would believe that they were cheated on by a Yoruba President”, adding “that is the word going round now”.
Olaosebikon therefore called on the former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, Ooni of Ife, and all Yoruba Obas to engage to Tinubu and prevail on him to allow level playing group in the supreme court.
“For our interest, the Yoruba in Kano, we are using this platform to call on our leading obas and leaders to come to our assistance by engaging President Bola Tinubu on the political situation in Kano. “
