Chieftains of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) has written to the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Bayo Ojulari requesting him to declare his asset within seven days or face prosecution.
The leaked letter seen by journalists on Wednesday showed that the GCEO is occupying the office without Assets Declaration which is contrary to what the constitution states.

The letter signed by Director FPO, Sulaiman Abubakar read in part, “I am directed to bring to your notice that paragraph 11, part 1 of the 5th Schedule of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) regarding Assets Declaration by Public Officers.

“The Section provides that ‘Every Public Officer should declare his/her Assets and Liabilities to the Code of Conduct Bureau: At the Beginning of Office; At the end of every four years; and at the end of the term of Office.

“You are hereby given 7 days from 25th August, 2025 to 8th September, 2025 to declare your Asset. Failure to declare, the Bureau will be left with no other option than to consider taking legal actions against you according to the Code of Conduct Tribunal Act.

“We hereby forward the copy of Asset Declaration form to you.”
