The police, yesterday, arraigned Senator Ademola Adeleke, before a Magistrate Court in Mpape, Abuja on charges of forgery.
The Police had in a fresh five counts charge, accused Adeleke of forging a letter of attestation and result from Muslim Grammar School, Ede Osun State.
The Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate in the last governorship candidate in Osun State, was said to have submitted the said forged documents to the Independent National Electoral Commission as PDP’s candidate in the said governorship election.
When the charges were read out to him, he pleaded not guilty.
Sequel to not guilty plea, the Chief Magistrate Muhammed Suberu, granted him bail to the tune of N2 million with one surety.
One of the conditions for his bail is that the surety must reside within the jurisdiction of the court.
The Senator representing Osun-East senatorial district is also answering an amended seven counts of examination malpractices before the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Justice Inyang Ekwo, had on Monday, granted Adeleke leave to travel to the United States of America for his medical treatment.
