Concerned Benue Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP Youths have frowned at the manner certain members of the party are sponsoring campaigns of hate, calumny, blackmail, and defamation of characters of some esteemed Party leaders.
The Youths drawn form the three(3) Senatorial District of the State at a press conference in Makurdi on Friday, expressed disdain at the overbearing and overheating desperation and campaigns of calumny by some members of the party who are aspiring to occupy the state party’s Executive positions, particularly, the position of Chairman, Benue PDP.
Spokes person of the group Hon. Dan Atayi decried the manner a certain Sheik Mallam De Comrade, a well known crisis Merchant, who is purportedly campaigning for Hon. George Alli, the former Chairman of Otukpo LGA, wherein he assassinated the characters of the esteemed and distinguished Senator Comrade Abba Moro referring to him as ‘Okpokwu Mugabe’.
He also,noted that in the same media blackmail, he (Sheik)accused Sen. Abba Moro of trying to bring one Ohimini Stone Miner, referring to Rt. Hon. Ezekiel Adaji, to replace the current Chairman of the PDP, Sir. John Ngbede.
“The said deliberate mischief maker, posited that only George can bring PDP back to life in Benue, thereby jettisoning the astute personalities that abound in Benue PDP, a propaganda taken too far!
“We make bold to say this that some charlatans who are crisis Merchants and deliberate mischief Makers have started media campaign of calumny as their principals aspire to occupy Executive party position(s) in the state. We are issuing this warning on time particularly as we saw a publication on Facebook by one Sheik Mallam De Comrade, a crisis Merchant who already defamed the personality of our distinguished Senator, the only Senator who won a landslide victory from Benue State, our Party Leader by constitution, an astute lawmaker that the entire Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is proud of his Legislative dexterity and acumen, a national and international Comrade of great repute cum Lawmaker that the Citizens of this country are proud of , distinguished Senator Abba Patrick Moro, that we will not allow any street urchin and media hirelings to bring to disrepute.
“Senator Abba Moro is a Political enigma that Benue has produced for the nation, and who is making all of us proud at the National Assembly. Apart from blackmailing the Senator, the stillborn Social Media handler of the said Sheik Mallam De Comrade, went on to abuse the person of Rt. Hon. Ezekiel Adaji, a Two term Federal Representatives at the National Assembly for Otukpo/Ohimini federal Constituency, a two term Executive Chairman of Ohimini LGA, a pragmatic and energetic loyal member of the PDP who has never lost an election, describing him as Ohimini Stone Miner! This is absurd and will not be taken with levity. How could a total outsider and stranger dare publish such assaults against the RT. Hon. a Man of no mean capacity that has been stable, consistent in the party for over 20 years and whose tenacity has given the party victories in many elections? Sadly, Rt. Hon. Ezekiel is not a rival to anybody neither has he declared against the party’s decision.
“While we have nothing against the aspiration of his Principal, George Alli, we warn him and his likes not to sow bad blood in the PDP as same scheme was used in the past to deceive some aspirants who eventually left the party when their expectations weren’t met.
“We warn them to desist forthwith from such campaigns of hate.
We want to warn them that Benue PDP is not like the other parties which lack internal mechanisms to resolving issues relating to positions in the party, and would never allow unsolicited meddlesome interlopers to interfer either in the form of social media campaign of hate against any of our erudite and pragmatic Leaders whether such persons are members of the PDP or not! We equally want to warn those aspiring for state party Executive positions, to wait until the party Secretariat gives the nod to do so.
“We advise that when the nod is given, they must go about their campaigns with much regards and respect to our party’s and Political Leaders, as whoever is found sponsoring hate campaign against our Party and Political Leaders shall be made to face the penalty of infringement of our party constitution , and the law of the federal republic of Nigeria as contained in the constitution.
“We, the concerned Benue PDP Youths shall make sure we press charges against such person(s) and or contestants!
“It’s on these two notes that we the concerned Benue PDP Youths demand an unalloyed apology from Sheik Mallam De Comrade within 7 Days of this publication, to our party Leaders that he not only blackmailed but defamed, that he publishes the apology in two national dailies and his Facebook page within this given time or face legal and other civil actions from us!
“We want to reiterate that Benue PDP is still under the Chairmanship of Sir John Ngbede and our unified leaders. Our party is poised to come back to winning ways, with explicit trajectory for the people and perfect blueprints for economic reliefs and recovery for the people of Benue State and indeed, Nigeria”, Dan stated.
