From Umar Dankano,Yola
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has challenged all the 21 Local Government Council Chairmen in the State to sit up or be voted out in the next election.
Fintiri stated that he has been receiving series of complaints that the council chairmen are not doing anything to better the lots of the electorates in their local councils.
The Governor who spoke at the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Stakeholders meeting at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Yola, on Wednesday said “the people of the State especially those at the grassroots are not happy with the performances of the council chairmen.
“But be reminded that you better change or be voted out in the Local government elections which is just few months from now.
“It is unfortunate that as elected people to represent the government at the grassroots, you are the ones attempting to undermine the administration. We will not fold our arms and see the decay in the local government administration as the few ones that are committed will be reelected”, the Governor stressed.
He said his administration inherited a socially destabilized society with a disenchanted citizenry who live in constant fear of losing their lives, livelihood and properties.
