The remains of Chief Eyabaire Oji Oyibo-Rhokaye, a staunch community leader, prominent businessman and frontline educationist, were on Saturday interred in his country home, Igun, in Ethiope East local government of Delta State.
The burial took place after a funeral service held at the First Baptist Church, Igun.
At the well attended funeral service that lasted for about two hours, the officiating Pastor, Rev (Dr) Jackson Opiri harped on the need for the people around to always live in a Godly and righteous way.
Opiri, a PhD holder, pointed out that after death, there will come a day of judgement, during which everybody will render account of how they lived their lives on earth.
In his sermon titled, “Where Lies Your Hope?, the officiating Reverend said, “There is after life. Be conscious of your eternal hope, not your earthly positions or wealth amazement”.
Continuing, he said, “When your hope is built in the Christ our Lord, you with live with the consciousness that soon, there will be judgement. This life we are leaving today is temporary. Live with the consciousness that you will be rewarded. Heaven is recording both your public and private life.
“If you are a christian, be a christian. If you are not a christian , let it be known, clearly, that you are not”, he said.
Rev (Dr) Opiri admonished the children left behind by the deceased to continue with his legacy, adding, “keep the flag of your father flying”.
He concluded by saying, “Train your children in a Godly way, just the way your father had trained you. Let’s hold God dear. Build your homes on the Lord. Don’t be afraid”.
After the interment of Chief Eyabaire Oji Oyibo-Rhokaye, a grand reception was later held for the guests that graced the burial ceremony.
Among the guests were; Engineer Ojo Olusola George from Idoani in Ose local government area of Ondo State, Chief Isaac Komolafe from Abuja, Madam Iyalola Olowe and some staff from the MTN headquarters in Lagos.
The deceased was survived by his wife, Mrs Margret Obukojirewe Oyibo-Rhokaye, his children-Barrister Ese Oyibo-Rhokaye, Pastor Erere Oyibo-Rhokaye, Mr Edafe Oyibo-Rhokaye, Mr Otite Oyibo-Rhokaye, Mr Efe Oyibo-Rhokaye, Mrs Obruche Oyibo-Rhokaye Komolafe, Miss Omonigho Oyibo-Rhokaye, Mrs Favour Oyibo-Rhokaye Adegor and Mr Ovie Oyibo-Rhokaye.
He was also survived by twenty-one grand children and a great grand child.
