Eleven people were reportedly killed on Christmas Day, as armed bandits attacked Ityuluv, Tse Azege in Nyiev Ya community of Kwande local government area of Benue State.
A source in the community who pleaded anonymity said the attack was unprovoked as the bandits invaded the community, burning down houses.
He said many persons are still missing, adding that leaders of the affected communities have reported the attack to the police authority.
When contacted, Special Adviser to Governor Hyacinth Alia on Security Chief Joseph Har said he was informed of the incident but declined further comments while referring our reporter to the Director General Homeland Security, Air Commodore Gbawuam rtd whose number failed to connect.
