As the country consolidates on the current majority rule, a clergy has stressed the need for the judiciary to work assiduously towards saving the current democratic experience from total collapse.
Speaking as part of activities lined up for 2020/2021 new legal year for the Kogi State Judiciary in Lokoja yesterday, the Senior Pastor in charge of First ECWA Church, Lokoja, Rev. Dr Frank Paul said concerted efforts must be geared towards ensuring that the current democracy do not nosedived.
He therefore charged the judiciary in the country to be firm and resolute in their decisions, by churning out sound judgements, especially on delicate matters, not minding whose ox is gored, with a view to ensuring an enduring democracy in the country.
In his message titled, “Be prepared”, which was anchored on Timothy chapter 2 verse 4, Rev.Paul said the country needs surgical operation, and “only the judiciary can do this surgical operation effectively and not medical experts”.
He posited further that people are tired of dictatorship in the country, maintaining that it is only a virile judiciary that can safe the nation from collapse.
