A combined security outfit of Police and Army has recovered weapons and explosives in Shira local government area of Bauchi state following an attack by unknown gunmen on Mothercat Construction Company yesterday, in an attempt to cart away some explosives materials being used by the company for their construction.
The Bauchi state Command Public Relation Officer (PRO), DSP Haruna Mohammed confirmed the incident to journalists yesterday in Bauchi, saying that the combined forces responded on time and engaged the hoodlums in a fierce gun battle for more than one hour, which forced them to abandon a full loaded pick-up with explosive materials, motor cycles and escape with bullet wounds.
He said the entire area was cordoned-off and that effort is being intensified to arrest the fleeing suspects .
