Commission seeks pact with stakeholders to improve education

Nasarawa State chairman, Teachers’ Service Commission, Abdullahi Galadima has called on the key players in the education industry in the state to as a matter of concern work harmoniously through sharing of ideas, advice and identify possible corrections that will at the end promote the standard of education in the state for the benefit of the future generation.
Galadima who made the assertion while speaking with newsmen in Lafia the state capital, lamented that the standard of education is deteriorating and needed collective attention.
According to him,” Governor Sule has a vision and mission for the education sector in the state. I call on the key players to support his vision. The gevernor always emphasized on ways to improve education which is one of his cardinal priority. Let us rally round him to achieve his vision and mission for the state. Education and health sectors, are social responsibilities of individuals and government to give a desired attention I plead with the people of Nasarawa State to focus attention on education, no matter the challenges. we should not play politics with education and health sectors.”
He further appealed to teachers to always have passion for the profession by impacting knowledge positively to pupils and secondary school students in the state; lamenting that a lot of teachers don’t have the passion for the teaching profession as according to him” they on joined the teaching profession because of there are no Jobs.”
His words: A lot of them have no basic teaching qualifiaction to impact on students. They don’t have the basic principles and practice of education. In those days teachers were groomed with the basic techniques. Government at all levels should engage professional teachers.”
Galadima further assured that the commission is working assiduously with the ministry of education and SUBEB aimed at improving the system; calling on teachers in the state to breast up as well as have passion for the teaching profession.
“The commission has worked out ways of improving the living condition of teachers in the state. Before now people say that the reward of teachers is in heaven. Today teachers are reaping their reward here on Earth. Now salaries are paid simultaneously. The grade levels are the same. Teachers are treated equally like every civil servant in the state. Let us collectively accord priority to education by supporting the present administration of Engr Abdullahi Sule,” he maintained.
