Commissioners get additional portfolio as Aliyu reshuffles cabinet in Niger

Niger state governor, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, has at the weekend, named supervisory commissioners to replace those who quit to pursue their political ambitions.

While addressing the press at Government House, Minna, the governor announced that Commissioner of Information, Danladi Ndayebo will supervise the ministry of Environment, Parks, Garden and Forest Resources.

According to governor Aliyu, Commissioner of Agriculture and Rural development, Prof. Muhammad Yahaya Kuta will supervise the ministry of Tertiary Education, while commissioner of Youth Development, Alhaji Abubakar Garba, is to oversee the ministry of Sports.

That of Special Duties, Dr. Joshua Bawa shall supervise the ministry of Science and Technology while the Health Commissioner, Hajiya Hadiza Abdullahi will oversee the portfolio of ministry of Gender Affairs and Social Development.

It could be recalled that Alhaji Yusif Garba Tagwai, of Sports, Barrister Abbas Bello of Science and Technology, Dr. Nuhu Bashar, of Tertiary Education and Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad Wushishi, of Youth Development, resigned to contest for House of Representatives respectively.

Meanwhile, that of Gender and Social Development however resigned to run for the seat in the Niger State House of Assembly.
