The Committee for Amaeze Autonomous Creation has reaffirmed Engr. Magnus Agara as the Eze-elect of Amaeze Amurie following a detailed verification process aimed at addressing concerns over his nomination and ensuring full compliance with traditional and administrative procedures.
This was contained in a statement signed by the committee’s Administrative Officer, Abamaji Victor, and made available to newsmen in Abuja on Friday.
The committee explained that the clarification became necessary after questions were raised regarding the process that led to Agara’s nomination and his eligibility for the position of the first Eze of the newly created autonomous community.
According to the statement, Engr. Agara himself had requested a formal verification to clear all doubts surrounding his emergence, insisting that due process must be followed to guarantee legitimacy and secure eventual recognition by the state government.
After weeks of review and internal assessment, the committee said it was satisfied that all issues earlier raised had been addressed, adding that there were no longer any outstanding grey areas concerning the nomination.
It therefore reaffirmed its earlier decision, declaring that Engr. Magnus Agara remains the duly recognised Eze-elect of Amaeze Amurie.
The committee further assured stakeholders that his ascension to the throne would proceed without hindrance, paving the way for what it described as a smooth and peaceful transition.
Meanwhile, political appointees drawn from Isu, Nwangele, Njaba and Nkwerre local government areas have also thrown their weight behind Agara, pledging support for his official recognition by the state government.
The delegation, led by the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Cosmos Maduba, paid a solidarity visit to the Eze-elect, alongside other political office holders and party leaders.
In his response, Engr. Agara expressed appreciation for the support and formally accepted his nomination after confirming that all outstanding concerns had been resolved.
He pledged to prioritise development in Amaeze Amurie, promising infrastructural growth and renewed progress aimed at elevating the community’s status within the region.
