The people of Tsakani community in Karu local government area of Nasarawa state on Friday appealed to Governor Umaru Tanko Al-makura to salvage the community from being cut off from their neighbouring communities and the outside world.

Mr. Tanko Tsakani, the village head of Tsakani made the appeal after the Senior Special Assistant to Al-makura on Rural Infrastructure, Engr. Lawrence Ada’a inspected Ato Bridge, in Tsakani.

He said that the appeal has become necessary because of the sufferings encountered by community members in transporting their agricultural goods to the neighbouring markets.

“The community has been neglected over the years especially in the area of infrastructural development which had affected the level of socio-economic activities and education in the area.

“We thank God that you are here by yourself today, and you saw how this Ato Bridge has cut off the community from the neighbouring communities and the bridge has affected not only the socio-economic activities but the lives of our people negatively.

“We are appealing, crying to his Excellency to salvage this community by constructing this bridge that links the community with other communities to boost the socio-economic activities of our people for the benefit of all”, Tsakani said.

According to him, construction of the bridge would not only improve on the socio-economic activities of the people but would also improve on the revenue base of the state and the country at large.
