The community leader of Tugan-Ashere in Abuja municipal Area council (AMAC) of the FCT, Mr. Garba Giwa, has appealed to the chairman of the council, Micah Yohanna Jiba, to as a matter of urgency provide boreholes to tackle the problem of scarcity of water in the area.
He also pleaded with the chairman to build a clinic to prevent the people from seeking medical attention in the neighbouring villages.
Giwa, who made the appeal in an interview with Peoples Daily in Tugan-Ashere, accused the chairman of failing to provide basic amenities in the community since he assumed leadership of the council.
He therefore requested the chairman to build both primary and secondary schools in the community to encourage the children to enroll in schools instead of having their children attend schools in the nearby villages.
He expressed regret that despite persistent appeals to AMAC to provide social amenities in the area, nothing had been done to move the community to the next level.
On his part, the community youth leader, Mr. Saidu Abdullahi, called on the chairman to repair the dilapidated roads in the community in order to enable the farmers transport their farm produce to urban areas for sale.
He said that the present administration of the area council had not carried out any project in the area, while urging the chairman to do something tangible in Tugan-Ashere before the expiration of his tenure.
