A two day conference in honour of Sardauna Katsina, Ambassador Ahmad Rufa’i Abubakar will begin today, Thursday, in Katsina.
The Sardauna Katsina would be turbaned by the emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman on the 31st December 2022.
The Permanent Representative of Nigeria at the United Nations, Professor Tijjani Bande is the organizer of the two-day conference with the theme “Tradition and Modernity: Issues in the History of Katsina. The Conference will run from 29-30 December 2022 at the Conference Hall of Katsina Motel.
Seventeen academic papers by renowned experts will be presented over a period of two days. On the first day of the conference, four papers will be presented on Royalty,Historiography and Scholarship in Katsina and six others on Issues in History, Tradition and Continuity.
On the second day, eight presentations will be made on Security and Peace Building as well as the contributions of Katsina to the development of sports and women in Nigeria.
The peak of the event would take place with the turbaning of the Sardauna of Katsina on the 31st December 2022 at the emir’s palace Kofar-Soro Katsina.
Earlier a golf tournament in honour of the Sardauna Katsina began in Katsina yesterday.
