Indications have emerged that communities within Gombe and environs are witnessing a increased spread of coronavirus.
According to daily statistics of COVD-19 issued by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on the 14th of June clearly stated that Gombe State recorded 73 active cases.
Chairman of Tasks Force Committee on COVID-19 in Gombe State, Prof. Idris Mohammed gave a pointer to this while briefing journalists in Gombe.
He said no fewer than 3,668 persons so far have been tested for the virus within stipulated time of 2 weeks.
According to him, within 2 weeks, out of the number tested for COVID-19 in the state 250 results returned positive.
While encouraging the public to avail themselves for testing, the chairman however, said there was no course for alarm.
He pointed out that the committee has taken drastic measures to fight against the virus and called on the public not panic about the disease.
