Coronavirus: Senator donates 3,001 bags of rice to Adamawa people

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Sen. Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed(Binani) has donated 3,001 bags of rice to the people of Adamawa State.
She also extended the palliatives to THE Muslim Counci, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Federation of Muslim Women Association of Nigeria ( FOMWAN), Matan ZUMUNTA and other groups in the state.
But she pleaded with the people of Adamawa State to remain vigilant and obey instructions from government health officials on COVID-19.
Binani, who was represented by Hajiya Aishatu Abdulrahman Abba( the wife of a former Chief of Staff to ex-Governor Jibrilla Bindo) asked the people of Adamawa to be their brothers’ keepers in this challenging time.
The Senator could not attend the session because of the lockdown in Abuja.
In her message to the beneficiaries, she said: “We are here not for merry making or long speeches but to simply start the distribution of 3001 bags of rice to our people in support of the difficulties many families face personally following challenges of COVID 19 pandemic.
“In all ramifications, this Coronavirus disease is a worldwide calamity or a disaster that we have not witnessed in our life time.
“ The Senator’s gesture is a personal contribution to our people at this difficult time. It reminds us to be our brothers/sisters keepers in times like this.
“ I therefore urge all our people to endeavour to be of some help to one another. The distribution is largely centred in all wards in Adamawa Central, and some token extended to other parts of the state in the North and South senatorial zones.”
The Senator said she has extended the gesture to Muslim Council, the Christian Association of Nigeria( CAN), Matan Zumunta, FOMWAN and other groups across the state.
She added:” We pray to Almighty Allah to guard us through this difficult period and quickly bring to its end.
“We must however remain vigilant, keep obeying instructions from government health officials like regular hand washing with soap, avoidance of crowded places and maintaining social distance.”
