The governorship tribunal sitting in Gombe state has affirmed Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya as the duelly electected candidate by the majority at the recent governorship elections held on the 18th of March 2023.
It would be recalled that the All Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were not satisfied with the outcome of the result of the governorship elections in Gombe state where they dragged All Progressives Congress and its candidate to court.
Presiding judge, Justice SB Belgore made the declaration on Tuesday in Gombe while delivering judgement at the governorship tribunal court.
He said the 70 paragraph petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its governorship candidate Alhaji Mohammad Barde on the 6th of April challenging the out come of the conduct of the governorship elections that declared Mohammad Inuwa Yahaya governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner has been stroke out due to lack of merit.
Justice Belgore while affirming the victory of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Mohammad Inuwa Yahaya said the petitioners in their petitions were unable to provide the tribunal with evidence regarding to that effect during the court proceedings.
According to him, the petitioners however stated in their petitions alledging that governorship elections on the 18th of March were marred with irregularities and non compliance of electoral ACT.
Delivery his judgement, Justice Belgore assured that non of the witnesses of the petitioners came to testified their grievances by providing evidences before the tribunal that says there were multiple voting, elections results were not downloaded at INEC cyber, among others.
