The chief magistrate court 1 in Damaturu, Yobe state, has sentenced a 32 years’ old, Ado Abdullahi, a resident of Bindigari ward in Damaturu, Yobe state, on a one-count charge of deceitfully inducing a woman to have sexual intercourse with him.
Police prosecutor, Cpl. Thomas Bitrus told the court that the case was reported at the Police station on September 18, 2014, at about 14,30 hours, by one Zainab Sa’idu, a resident of Dikumari ward, of Potiskum road, Damaturu.
He further told the court that, sometime in the month of August 2014, the accused person deceitfully induced and had sexual intercourse with the complainant, Zainab Sa’idu, which as a result, she became pregnant.
The prosecutor told the court that the offence is punishable under section 383 of the penal code law.
The presiding judge, Gambo Hussaini Jumbum therefore, sentenced the accused person to serve 6 months imprisonment without the option of fine.
