A real estate firm, KSI Group, on Monday unveiled the Funke Fadeni Foundation in Ondo State, marking the 10th remembrance anniversary of the late Chief Adefunke Fadeni.

The foundation, established in honour of the mother of real estate investor, Engr. (Dr.) Koleola Emmanuel Fadeni, is aimed at expanding humanitarian interventions and youth empowerment initiatives.

Speaking at the event, Fadeni, who is the Group Managing Director of KSI Group, said the foundation had long been involved in charitable activities before its formal unveiling.

He said the organisation had, for over a decade, supported individuals in Abuja and Ondo State through various interventions designed to uplift livelihoods.

Fadeni noted that his commitment to humanitarian service stemmed from a desire to see people thrive, stressing that wealthy individuals must contribute meaningfully to societal development.

He added that empowering youths would help address insecurity, urging more private sector players to support government efforts.

The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oladiji Olamide Adesanmi, described youth empowerment as a critical tool in curbing insecurity.

Adesanmi said security challenges in the country required collective responsibility, noting that government alone could not tackle the problem.

He emphasised the role of community collaboration and intelligence sharing, adding that the state had recently recruited about 500 Amotekun operatives to strengthen local security.

The lawmaker commended the foundation for its efforts, expressing optimism that its programmes would reduce crime by providing employment opportunities for young people.

He called on well-meaning Nigerians, particularly indigenes of Ondo State, to emulate the initiative.

Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Ondo East Local Government, Ogunduyilemi Kola Joshua, praised the initiative, saying it aligns with efforts to promote human development and enhance security.

The Operation Manager of the foundation, Mr Desmond Okunware, said its programmes would stand out, especially in empowering women and youths.

The event featured the cutting of a remembrance cake by dignitaries and family members, alongside donations to support the foundation’s activities.
