Court remands guard over attempted rape of 6-year old

Crime_02A Grade 1 Area court in Kado, Abuja, has ordered the remand of a security guard, John Emmanuel, pending hearing in the alleged case of rape brought against him.

Emmanuel, 20, who resides at Opposite Herabina Hotel in Utako, Abuja, is charged with attempted defilement of a six-year old girl.

The judge, Mr. Mohammed Sadiq, who refused to grant bail to the accused, adjourned the case until June 11.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Simon Ibrahim, had told the court that one Anzaku Danjuma of Utako village, Abuja, reported the matter at the Utako Police Station on April. 27.

Ibrahim said the accused lured the minor, Hanatu Danjuma, into her father’s bed room with intent to have sex with her.

He also said that Emmanuel forced the little girl to play with his genital.

He said that during police investigation, Emmanuel admitted to committing the crime.

Ibrahim said the offence contravened the Penal code. (NAN)
