A Jigawa State Higher Court, sitting in Dutse, has upheld Engr Auwal Garba as the Chairman of All Farmers Association of Nigeria(AFAAN), Jigawa state chapter.
This is following the withdrawal of the suit filed Alhaji Idris Ya’u Maiu guwa(Jaga) and seven other executive members challenging the eligibility of the election of engr Auwal Garba as the Chairman.
In a suit marked JDU/001/2023, complainants pray the court to declare him as the substantial chairman of the association along his other executive members.
Maiunguwa claimed that their tenure was not elapsed when the new executive was elected, also confirmed that his tenure will end in August 2024 as at the time of filing the suit.
However, the compliment also field another suit requesting to withdraw the case.
Delivering his judgement on the matter the presiding Judge of the court Justices M.B Adamu said, upon reading the motion filed on the request to withdraw the case and also listen to the counsel of both complainant and dependants, the court has granted the leave for withdrawal.
“The court has struck out the case and no order made to cost any of the involved party “
Reacting to the ruling, counsel to the dependant, Barister Baffa Alhassan said, with striking out of the case, the court has validates the election of Eng Auwal Garba and other executives as substantial and legitimate executive leaders of the AFAAN Jigawa state chapter.
