The Adamawa state Government has announced Monday 12th October,2020 as official resumption date for all public and private schools across the state.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri disclosed the development in Yola, Thursday, via a press statement expressing regret that the emergence of the deadly COVID 19 disease has seriously affected social and economic sectors globally.
Governor Fintiri also directed the commissioner of Education and Human development to immediately liaise with stakeholders in the sector with a view to fashioning acceptable modalities for the re-opening.
“I am pleased to announce Monday October 12th as the date for resumption of academic activities form Basic to Tertiary levels having wasted so much time.
“As a government,we will not leave any stone unturned towards ensuring enforcement of the COVID 19 protocols”.He stressed.
He therefore directed school managers to maintain high level of COVID 19 observance habit by providing the necessary requirements needed for the safety of students
“Schools must ensure washing of hands at entry points,Use of Face mask and Hand sanitizer as well as social distancing and proper hygiene as any institution or school found wanting risk closure and sanctioning.”Fintiri warned .
Governor Fintiri in the statement signed by his press Secretary,Humwashi Wonosikou , charged parents and guardians to take interest in the health of their wards by assisting schools and providing the basic requirements needed for their children in the fight against the pandamic.
